Using Consultancies & placement agencies for your job search
Most consultancies and placement agencies operate in two ways:
1.They charge a fee from the candidate or the employer. Usually it comes to around one month’s salary. You can choose from the list of such companies in the yellow pages directory and start sending them your resume telling them exactly what kind of job you are looking for. They can turn out to be valuable resources for job seekers as they try to get you interviews and have employers take special consideration of your application.
2.If the agency operates by taking money from the candidates makes sure you know their placement record and have references from candidates already placed before you pay them. The consultancies that charge the employer are equally good but since they are looking first and foremost to satisfy employer needs they will call you only if they think you are suitable for opening they currently have.
